Charles Piezzi Arrested after DUI Crash on Lakeville Highway [Petaluma, CA] Five-Vehicle Collision near South McDowell Boulevard Left Woman, Child InjuredPETALUMA, CA (August 9, 2023) – Sunday evening, police arrested Charles Piezzi following a DUI injury collision on Lakeville Highway.Authorities responded to reports of a hit-and-run around 5:50 p.m. at Lakeville Highway at South McDowell Boulevard.According to the police, an SUV rear-ended another vehicle, causing a chain-reaction collision with four other cars. Responding emergency personnel transported a woman to Petaluma Valley Hospital for unspecified injuries. In addition, paramedics treated a 12-year-old child at the scene for minor injuries.After the crash, the SUV driver went over a curb and stopped at a nearby parking lot. 58-year-old Charles Piezzi of Petaluma then fled into a nearby neighborhood and into the backyard of a home at 1500 Rio Nido Way.Apparently, Piezzi disregarded the officers’ commands to surrender and broke into a residence in the area before getting detained by the police...

One dead in solo vehicle crash in Pleasant Hill (KRON) -- One person is dead after their car overturned Tuesday afternoon in Pleasant Hill, according to CHP.Around 2 p.m., a black BMW sedan was traveling eastbound on Coggins Drive at Las Juntas Drive with one occupant inside. CHP says the BWM left the roadway and collided with a raised concrete curb and two steel poles. Person shot dead outside Lake Merritt BART station The collision caused the BMW to overturn. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene once CHP and emergency personnel arrived, officials said. The cause of the collision is under investigation. Shortly after 10 a.m., a man was waiting for an Uber near the intersection of Fulton and Steiner streets when four men wearing black clothing and masks pulled up in an SUV, according to police. Man dies following Oakland shooting The men brandished guns and demanded the victim hand over his property. Another man across the street saw the confrontation and attempted to intervene. He crossed the street and told the assailants to stop, before they pointed their weapons at him and fled. Police say the suspects stole two bags containing laptops, medical equipment and clothing. Two women arrested in Alameda robbery in which victim was dragged (KRON) -- Two women were arrested Tuesday for a robbery last month in which the victim was dragged by the suspect's car, according to the Alameda Police Department. Alameda PD dispatchers received a call on June 25 at around 3:15 p.m., initially stating that a driver struck a woman with a car in the 900 block of Broadway.At the scene, officers located the victim and several witnesses. Through an investigation, officers learned that the woman was sitting in her car when someone approached and stole personal items from the vehicle. The suspect then ran back to their vehicle and the victim attempted to chase them. Skimming devices found in Petaluma During the course of trying to recover her property, police said the woman was dragged by the suspect's car and sustained injuries.
