70s to end the year with two storms to start 2024 AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Temperatures warmed up to near 70º today thanks to a southerly wind.Tonight will still be chilly, but not as cold as recent nights. Overnight lows will drop into the mid 30s in the Hill Country with lows near 40 in Austin under a clear sky.Sunday should be even warmer with highs in the low 70s ahead of a cold front that doesn't arrive until early Monday morning. Hundreds grab final hotdog from iconic San Marcos chili dog stand SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN) – Chili dog lovers of Central Texas had a difficult day Saturday as an iconic San Marcos stand served its final dogs. The Chili Dog Stand has cooked up chili dogs for nearly three-quarters of a century. Management posted to its Facebook page Thursday that the stand would permanently close after Saturday. “The Chili Dog Stand has proudly served the San Marcos Community for 71 years. We have watched our city grow and change, just as we have seen the generations of San Marcos grow and change. SSPD: Human remains found in Saratoga SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Saratoga Springs Police Department announced on December 30 that human remains have been found near South Broadway and Adelphi Street. The discovery was first reported to police by a resident on Saturday around 10:52 a.m. Get the latest news, weather, sports and more delivered right to your inbox! Following the report, patrol officers conducted a search of the area and located human remains in an advanced state of decomposition. Two killed, four injured in three overnight Denver shootings Two people died and four people were injured overnight in three Denver shootings.All three incidents were reported within a couple of hours of each other early Saturday morning.The first one happened in the 4800 block of West Colfax Avenue, Denver police reported about 1:55 a.m. on X.Police later reported two men died in this shooting and two other men were injured but expected to survive. Donated Loudoun Co. land to become 85-acre Cattail Regional Park A new 85-acre park will be opening outside Leesburg, Virginia, after the land was donated Wednesday to the Nova Parks system.Now deemed Cattail Regional Park, the land changed hands from Henry Harris and the Harris family to the park system.In addition to forests, fields, wetlands and upland bogs — the acreage also holds historic significance.During the Civil War, fortifications were created along the road at the farm.
