AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — The end of the World Golf Championships was a matter of time, especially with the arrival next year of smaller fields and enormous prize money for the elite players. What stings is losing the Match Play. The tournament began in 1999 at La Costa in California. If that seems like a long time ago, consider that Tiger Woods had only one major when he beat six-time major champion Nick Faldo in the opening round. “I’m not going to feel sorry for him. He’s had his chances to win tournaments,” Woods said. He was 23 and already ruthless. The final version takes place this week at Austin Country Club. HONG KONG (AP) — Public screenings of a slasher film that features Winnie the Pooh were scrapped abruptly in Hong Kong on Tuesday, sparking discussions over increasing censorship in the city. Film distributor VII Pillars Entertainment announced on Facebook that the release of “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” on Thursday had been canceled with “great regret” in Hong Kong and neighboring Macao. It did not elaborate nor immediately respond to a request for comment. For many residents, the Winnie the Pooh character is a playful taunt of China’s President Xi Jinping, and Chinese censors in the past had briefly banned social media searches for the bear in the country. In 2018, film “Christopher Robin” also featuring Winnie the Pooh was reportedly denied a release in China. The film’s pull in Hong Kong has prompted concern on social media over the territory’s shrinking freedoms. The movie was initially set to be shown in about 30 cinemas in Hong Kong, VII Pillars Entertainmen...Putin hosts Xi in the Kremlin with imperial palace pageantry

(NEXSTAR) – A fungus that poses "an urgent antimicrobial resistance threat," according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has already been detected in more than half of U.S. states. Candida auris, or C. auris, is so concerning because it is often resistant to anti-fungal drugs, making it hard to treat infections. It can also be hard to identify with standard lab tests, making it even more difficult to treat properly and early. The fungus was first detected in the United States in 2016. The fungus "spread at an alarming rate" between 2020 and 2021 in healthcare facilities, the CDC wrote in a memo released Monday and has continued to spread in 2022. ‘Ozempic face’: Doctors explain side effect of weight loss drugs By the end of 2022, there were more than 8,000 instances of Candida auris identified across 28 states and Washington, D.C.
