TURIN, Italy (AP) — In his first public words since being implicated in a betting scandal, Juventus midfielder Nicolò Fagioli has apologized for a “naïve error” but also hit out at newspapers for writing what he called was “rubbish.”The statement, across two Instagram stories posted on Wednesday, came the day after Fagioli was banned for seven months by the Italian soccer federation for betting violations, and ordered to undergo treatment for a gambling addiction.“I thought I would start by apologizing not only to Juventus fans but to all fans in the world of soccer and sport for the naive error that I made,” Fagioli wrote. “But instead I am obliged to start with the rubbish that newspapers write about me just to put me in a bad light with thousands of falsehoods…or maybe better, just to get a couple more views. DENVER (KDVR) — There is no such thing as silly superstitions or taking your favorite sports team too seriously. Compared to a lot of other Americans, you are not taking your team seriously enough. A new study shows that a shocking number of sports fans would do anything for love -- that is for the love of the game. Remembering Broncos superfan and ‘Mile High Monster’ Kerry Green The Harris Poll, on behalf of Vivid Seats, conducted an online survey asking over 2,000 people, 18 years or older what makes someone a true sports fan.Fans would choose sports over loveForty-five percent of Americans said that a romantic relationship is more likely to last if both partners are fans of the same sports team. While less than half of the survey believes this would affect the relationship, the survey also showed that fans would go to seemingly extreme lengths to support their team. None were authorized to speak on the record so were granted anonymity.Sunak has “always said he’d get the right deal, not one driven by arbitrary deadlines,” said one of the government officials.Sunak had planned to attend the India vs. England game at the Cricket World Cup on October 29 in northern India with his counterpart Narendra Modi. But negotiations over tariffs, services, investment, inter-company work visas and rules of origin are still in play — and the proposed signing ceremony risked being overshadowed by events in Israel and Gaza.De-escalating the Middle East “is, and should be, the only game in town right now,” said an industry figure cl...
