CHICAGO — Representation matters is the motto for Brown Babies Books, a non-traditional bookstore with a special emphasis on offering a diverse collection of books to boost self-esteem, confidence and compassion in children of color.Chicago native Tameca Lyons said the early childhood classic "Corduroy" takes her down memory lane. CLEVELAND, Texas (KIAH) – Five people are dead, including an 8-year-old boy, after police said a man under the influence shot them inside a Texas residence Friday evening.Police said the suspect is now on the run.Deputies with the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home in the 100 block of Walters Road in the Trails End area of Cleveland on reports of harassment. As deputies were en route, the communications center received multiple 911 calls of an active shooter incident at the dispatch location.When officials arrived, they found four people shot dead above the neck “almost execution style," according to a release from the sheriff's office.A fifth victim, an 8-year-old boy, was not found dead inside the residence. (WKBN) – A major company announced the recall of multiple different flour products Saturday.General Mills is voluntarily recalling 2-pound, 5-pound and 10-pound bags of Gold Medal Unbleached and Bleached All Purpose Flours over "the potential presence of Salmonella Infantis," the company said in an announcement published by the FDA.The products affected by the recall feature a "better if used by" date of March 27, 2024, and March 28, 2024, according to the notice. LARGO, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida woman allegedly shot and killed an African grey bird during a drunken fight with her husband, according to an affidavit.Largo police arrested Suzanne Mulalley, 61, and Steven Mulalley, 66, on domestic battery charges Monday, the affidavit showed. Police said Suzanne Mulalley and her husband were drunk when she shot and killed the parrot using a .380 Glock inside their home.The couple then walked outside and pushed each other, the report said. Police said Suzanne Mulalley then sprayed her husband with water using a spray bottle. Does your state allow teachers to carry a gun? Both the woman and her husband denied committing the crime, according to the affidavit.Suzanne Mulalley is not facing charges for the alleged shooting death of the parrot.
