GENEVA (AP) — Russian athletes are set to compete again in taekwondo at next month’s world championships, the sport’s governing body said Monday.The decision by World Taekwondo’s ruling council could see Ukraine fulfil a threat by its government to boycott sporting events where athletes from Russia or Belarus are involved.Russia is strong in taekwondo. All four of its athletes won medals at the Tokyo Olympics, including two gold. FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — The German soccer federation has given national women’s team coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg a contract extension before this summer’s World Cup.Voss-Tecklenburg and her assistant, Britta Carlson, signed new deals on Monday keeping them in charge until after the 2025 European Championship, the federation said in a statement. Voss-Tecklenburg, who made 125 appearances as a player for Germany, took over as interim coach from Horst Hrubesch in 2018. At the World Cup the following year, her team lost in the quarterfinals against Sweden, thus missing out on qualification for the Olympic Games.Last year, Voss-Tecklenburg led Germany to the European Championship final against England, where it lost 2-1 in extra time. DENVER (KDVR) — Threats of a planned school attack are common during the average Colorado school year. Loveland alone had seven just last week. The Thompson School District confirmed that more than a dozen teachers left campus during a shooting threat at Loveland High School on March 29. A district spokesperson said 14 teachers “departed the Loveland High School campus” while school was still in session following a Safe2Tell tip about a planned shooting at the school. The Miami Beach Police Department is currently searching for a suspect following a shooting that left a homeless man severely injured.The incident just before 3 a.m. on Monday at the intersection of 16th Street and Alton Road. Law enforcement officials were called to the scene and discovered a homeless man who had been shot. The victim was immediately transported to the hospital and is said to be in critical condition.The police are now urging anyone who may have information regarding the shooting to come forward and report it to the authorities. Police blocked off a right lane on Interstate 95 as they investigated a crime scene on the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 at the Golden Glades, Monday morning.Video footage showed a bullet-riddled vehicle being towed away from the scene. However, due to Navy security regulations, anyone looking to tour the visiting ships must register ahead of the event.
